Where should you go, and when?

Every month of the year at every destination, scored on ten years of climate readings, the public holidays that decide how busy it will be, and what the flight actually costs. Not a list of somebody's favourites.

Either box works on its own — a departure city shows everywhere you can reach, a destination shows its twelve months. 65 cities, 44 destinations.

Where each month is a sweet spot — warm enough, dry enough, and not the week the whole country is on holiday. Planning is not only about the next fortnight.

How a month is scored

Four things, weighted: climate carries the most, then the price of getting there, then crowds from public-holiday clusters at both ends, then daylight. A month too wet or too hot is excluded outright rather than quietly ranked low, and the reason is printed beside it.

The ranking is arithmetic over published data — ERA5 climate readings, public holiday calendars, observed fares — and the numbers behind every verdict are printed beside it. Destination pages also carry a written season profile, which is a language model's account of a place rather than a measurement; it is labelled as such wherever it appears, and it is the only part of this site that is not counted from something.
